Carl Jung describes an archetype as inherited memory, represented in the mind by a universal symbol and observed in dreams and myth. An archetype is also described as something that serves as the model or pattern for other things of the same type. The connection between Saralyn Rosenfield’s series and my own is that we both literally interpret ideas while also alluding to something that cannot be seen.
